2017 Skyhook "GSM" Sonoma

Bennett Valley, sits on high ground toward the Southeastern corner of Sonoma County.  Oak woodlands and pastureland form a mosaic among the manicured vineyards.  Here at the Vivio and Jemrose Vineyards, warm sun-filled days conclude begin and end with light fog, buffering this inland valley from surrounding warmenr climate, allowing for extended hangtime and delayed ripening.  These are ideal conditions for the cultivation of Syrah and Grenache.  This same maritime climate is repesented in the Petaluma Gap AVA immediately to the West, where we farm the Thieriot Vineyard.

Winemaking:

Skyhook is the manifestation of a love for Rhone varietals and they ability to meld into fascinating blends.  For our 2017 Red Wine, Syrah - with its savory, dark fruit character and soft tannin, is intertwined with Grenache’s broad, resonant fruit and warm spice.  We source and grow our grapes from three temperate vineyard sites, each lending their own unique layers within the flavor profile.
