2015 Maroon Reserve CABERNET Napa Valley

The grapes in this wine come from the Chiles Valley AVA in Napa, and the climate of this vineyard is very similar to the Bordeaux region of France.
The Merlot grapes were harvested by hand, destemmed and sorted, and aged in oak barrels for 28 months with 1/3 new French oak and 2/3 neutral oak. The new oak adds hints of baking apice, clove and mocha.
The 2017 wine has a wonderful ruby color, with inviting aromas of red berries and plums, with hints of violet and almond skin. There tannins are balanced with intense fruitiness, and smooth mouthfeel. The zing of acidity and long finish round out this wine, and an open bottle will not last long!
